In the footsteps of the legendary monk
Legend says there was a monk living at the entrance to the Dunajec Gorge - brother Cyprian or rather “Flying Monk”. His versatile talents went beyond XVIII century standards, so he was known from extraordinary projects and great urge to fly the skies. And supposedly he became the local Icarus trying to reach the clouds, so we called him rebellious.
Rebellious as the runners who decide to line up at this start line at 1 am and head into the night through mountains, forests and legends.
This course takes you through 3 mountain ranges, long climbs and steep downhills in Gorce, long rollercoasters in Beskid Sądecki and endless meadows and pasturelands in Little Pieniny. But if you think they are little, you’ll be surprised.

Your race pack includes 2 bags for storing your belongings:
- first for deposit before the start
- second as a drop bag for the aid station in Rytro (51.8 km)
First: if you need it, you may leave it just before the start in Szczawnica in the main deposit area and it will wait for you there.
Second: the drop bag must be left in the same place in the main deposit area in Szczawnica. You may leave it just before the start. The drop bag will be transported to Rytro, and after the point closes, it will be available for collection in the deposit area in Szczawnica, just where you left it.
All deposits and drop bags will be available for pickup after the race at the main deposit area in Szczawnica. To collect your bags, you'll need your bib number. All drop bags and deposits must be collected from the deposit area by 9:00 PM on Saturday.
